How to play
Seek, trace and stitch
Read the theme. Every board has a theme, and you know how many words there are of each length — but not which ones.
Trace with your finger. Drag from the first letter to the last. A word of the theme stays marked in its own coloured thread; anything else counts as a miss.
A rule for each day. Early in the week, straight words; then backwards too; and at the weekend, the snake: words that bend letter by letter.
Beat your time. The clock decides: misses and hints add seconds. When you finish, the day's star word tells you something worth knowing.

What people usually ask
Is Hilo free?
Yes. The whole game is free to play, with ads. There are optional coin packs for hints and a purchase that removes the ads, but nothing in the game is behind a payment.
Do I need an account?
No. It plays without an account and offline. Naming yours lets your coins, streak and scenes follow you to another phone.
What is the star word?
One word on every board is special. When you finish, it tells you a curious fact about itself, with a link to read more.
How do hints work?
You can light a word's first letter, see every word's initials, have one marked for you or show the whole list. Each hint costs coins and adds a few seconds to your time.
Are the words real?
Yes. Every theme is checked before it is published: all its words are in its language's dictionary, and none can be spelled by accident in the filler letters.
Can I change the language?
Yes, in Settings. The text and the words on the board change together; your streak, coins and scenes stay as they were.
